CHICAGO: Lower West Side Restaurants

You've Found A Great Restaurant

NOW...Make it an
Evening to Remember

(If you like this site, Tell a Friend!!)

No need to go to Mexico. Get off the L blue line at 18th street and you'll feel as though you've crossed the border. Taquerias, panaderias, mercados, it's all there!
18th Street is a lively walking district, with Mexican bakeries, restaurants, and groceries though the principal district for Mexican shopping is 26th Street in Little Village. Life in Pilsen is good. There's no hurry, very relaxed and the Mexican food is incredible.

Our TOP PICK in PILSEN!

Cafe Jumping Bean  |  1439 W. 18th St.  |  (312) 455-0019

What an oasis. Great prices, no hurry, the servers are your friends (and enjoy working there) and the food is incredible to boot! It's quiet enough to work since they offer free high-speed internet  but friendly enough that you can chat with people at other tables. There's a great mix of locals, artists, hipsters, and yuppies, not to mention the occasional on-duty cop. This place is a great way to start your day with a smile on your face!
